HURGHADA, Egypt: Leadership at Rixos Hotels Egypt has praised the operator’s frontline teams after the group secured seven honours at the World Travel Awards Africa Gala Ceremony 2026, held on 28 August 2026 in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
The clean sweep spanned properties across the brand’s Egyptian footprint, which takes in resorts and hotels in Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and Alexandria. Guests can explore the Rixos portfolio to see the destinations recognised on the night, from adults-only escapes on the Red Sea to a heritage landmark on the Mediterranean coast.
Leadership Frames the Wins as a Team Achievement
Rather than treat the results as a marketing milestone, the operator’s most senior figure in Egypt used the moment to credit the people behind the guest experience. Mr. Erkan Yildirim, Managing Director of Rixos Hotels Egypt, commented on the outcome directly.
“We are extremely proud to receive seven World Travel Awards. This recognition reflects the dedication of our teams and our continued commitment to delivering exceptional and memorable guest experiences. We sincerely thank our guests and partners for their trust and support.”
His remarks positioned the recognition as a reflection of day-to-day service standards rather than a single campaign, pointing to staff across the Egyptian portfolio as the reason the trophies were awarded.
The Seven Titles in Full
The awards, presented across categories covering resorts, family stays, heritage and leisure attractions, were as follows:
- Africa’s Leading Water Park 2026, Aqua Park, Rixos Premium Seagate, Egypt
- Egypt’s Leading All-Inclusive Resort 2026, Rixos Sharm El Sheikh Adults Only 18+
- Egypt’s Leading Beach Resort 2026, Rixos Premium Magawish Suites & Villas
- Egypt’s Leading Family Resort 2026, Rixos Premium Seagate
- Egypt’s Leading Heritage Hotel 2026, Rixos Montaza Alexandria
- Egypt’s Leading Luxury Hotel Villa 2026, Premium Villa @ Club Prive by Rixos Sharm El Sheikh
- Egypt’s Leading Resort 2026, Rixos Premium Magawish Suites & Villas
The breadth of the haul is notable, with individual properties recognised in more than one field. Rixos Premium Magawish Suites & Villas in Hurghada claimed both the beach resort and the overall resort titles, while Rixos Premium Seagate was honoured for its family offering as well as its Aqua Park attraction.
Recognition Across Three Coastal Hubs
Taken together, the results cover the group’s core Egyptian markets. Sharm El Sheikh contributed the all-inclusive and luxury villa titles, Hurghada delivered the resort and beach honours alongside the family and water park wins at Seagate, and Alexandria was acknowledged for heritage at Rixos Montaza.
The World Travel Awards, often described within the sector as a benchmark for excellence in travel and hospitality, gathers regional winners each year before crowning global champions. Full details of this year’s African results are available via the World Travel Awards. For Rixos Hotels Egypt, the seven-strong showing caps a strong year and, in its leadership’s view, belongs to the teams who delivered it.
