Citi Field stadium food has topped Yelp‘s second annual Top 50 Stadiums for Game-Day Eats report, claiming the number-one spot across every major professional sports league in the United States. The New York venue beat out stadiums and arenas from the MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, MLS, WNBA and NWSL to claim the title.
At the heart of Citi Field’s ranking is a strategy that has become a template for the modern matchday experience: local vendor partnerships. The stadium currently counts 27 vendor partnerships and has introduced 37 new menu items, giving fans access to a breadth of food that goes well beyond the traditional stadium offer.
Citi Field Stadium Food: A Record of Consistent Recognition
The Yelp ranking is not the only measure of the stadium’s food credentials. According to QNS, Citi Field earned the title of Best Stadium Food in 2023 from USA Today, then followed that with Best Baseball Stadium Food in 2024, 2025 and 2026 from the same publication. That run of recognition points to something more sustained than a single good season of catering.
The Yelp report also highlights a vendor worth noting beyond the stadium’s established names. Ekiben’s bao buns are available at Citi Field, and Yelp reports that the offering has featured on its Top 100 Places to Eat lists for 2026, 2024 and 2023, as well as the Top 100 Sandwich Shops. It is the kind of crossover act that underlines why the stadium draws food-focused visitors alongside the core fanbase.
What Fans Are Actually Eating
Several dishes from the current menu have drawn particular attention. The Signature Square, a collaboration between Napoli’s Pizza and Seoul Bird, was described by Delish Social Media Editor Izabela Campos as ‘zingy, spicy, and full of flavor,’ with the dough praised for being exactly what a stadium slice should be. Delish Digital Director Katelyn Lunders highlighted the crust quality, the heat level and the convenience of the bite-sized chicken portions.
Pig Beach BBQ’s Loaded Cornbread has also registered strongly with visitors. Campos described it as ‘perfectly sweet and soft,’ with pulled pork that was ‘moist and not overpowering.’ Lunders found the bread sweet and the pork satisfying. It is the sort of dish that travels well around a ground without requiring a fork and a flat surface.
Vegan City’s Nachos have drawn praise from both vegan and non-vegan visitors. Campos noted the dish comes ‘loaded up to the max,’ while Lunders called them ‘so good’ and singled out the guacamole specifically. Critically for stadium food, the chips held their texture throughout.
Rounding out the current menu highlights is Adam’s Classic from Adam Richman’s Burger Hall of Fame, a smash burger on a potato bun that Campos described as a dish where ‘you can’t go wrong,’ with fresh toppings. Lunders agreed, calling it a ‘nice, crispy smash burger.’
The Wider Ranking and What It Reflects
Citi Field stadium food leads a top five that spans three different leagues and four US cities. Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta finishes second, followed by Petco Park in San Diego, Busch Stadium in St Louis and Target Field in Minneapolis. The spread suggests the partnership-with-local-vendors model is not exclusive to one market or one sport.
The broader shift in MLB stadium catering, away from generic concessions and towards curated local food programmes, is reflected across the Yelp list. Some venues have brought in Michelin-starred and James Beard Award-winning chefs for collaborations available only on matchdays, creating a pull that extends beyond the sporting event itself.
For Citi Field, the next test is whether the 2026 Yelp number-one ranking can be backed up by a third consecutive USA Today Best Baseball Stadium Food title, a run that now stretches back to 2024.
