Johanna Konta is Britain’s best hope for female success at Wimbledon on the Centre Court since the days of Virginia Wade and Sue Barker. The British No 1 has already reached the semi-finals at the Australian Open in 2016 and risen to No 22 on the world rankings. Her meteoric form last autumn earned her a place among the BT Sport Action Woman Top 10 Performers of 2015.
Now The Mixed Zone is proud to announce that we can invite readers to quiz Johanna on her hopes, fears and career. Or perhaps something beyond sport. Like: what is the gelato addict’s favourite ice cream, which bands or movies has she seen lately, who was her teen idol, and has she added Spanish to her list of languages courtesy of her coaching team? Alongside multiple Grand Slam winner, Jordanne Whiley, in the wheelchair event and Heather Watson who came so close to derailing Serena Williams at Wimbledon last year, British women’s tennis appears to be on an upwards trajectory.
Just send your questions via Twitter to @_mixedzone #askjo or as a comment at the bottom of this page, before the start of the French Open on Sunday, May 22. No prizes, but the best questions, along with Johanna’s responses, will appear on this website in the build-up to the Wimbledon Championships.
